New Delhi: The Supreme Court has flatly refused to pass an interim order on bulldozer action in Uttar Pradesh. With this, the court has fixed August 10 as the date for the next hearing. Let us know that a petition has been filed on behalf of Jamiat-Ulema-e-Hind questioning the bulldozer action of the Uttar Pradesh government. The Jamiat in its petition has said that the government is demolishing the construction without following any procedure targeting the people.

Responding to this, the Uttar Pradesh government had said during the hearing held in the past that only illegal constructions are being demolished and the procedure is being followed for the same. Notices were also issued to those whose constructions were demolished in advance. During the hearing, senior advocate Dave, appearing for the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, said action is being taken to target a community.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta had objected to Dave's submission, saying that there is no separate community but a single community whose name is Indian. To this, Dave said that the entire military farm itself is illegal, but no one has even touched it. The Jamiat said the action was targeted after violent protests in Kanpur and Prayagraj. To this, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that such allegations are baseless.
